Privacy Policy

Stang is a personal finance app made by SMBee. We take your privacy seriously. Here is exactly what we collect and why.

What we collect

• Account data — your email address, used only to identify your account.
• Financial data you enter — transaction names, amounts, categories, and dates. Stored securely in Supabase (hosted on AWS) with row-level security, so only your account can read it.
• Receipt images — photos or PDFs you attach to transactions are stored securely alongside your transaction data. Only you can view them.
• Billing data — if you upgrade, payment is handled entirely by Stripe (web) or Apple (in-app purchase). We never see or store your card details.
• Analytics — we use Google Analytics 4 on the public marketing pages only, never inside the app, to understand how people discover Stang. IP addresses are anonymised and ad personalisation is disabled.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your data.
• We don't share your data with third parties beyond what's described here: Supabase for storage, Stripe and Apple for billing, and Anthropic's Claude for AI parsing and insights.
• We don't track you inside the app.

AI features

When you log an expense in natural language, scan a receipt, or ask Stang a question, the relevant text or image is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to that processing. Your data is not used to train AI models.

Data retention & deletion

Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and everything in it at any time from within the app — open Settings and choose Delete account. Deletion is immediate and permanent. If you would rather we did it for you, email hello@smbee.me and we'll process the request within 7 days.
